StillpawSeizure diary for dogs and cats

Stillpaw terms of use

These terms are the licence agreement for the Stillpaw iPhone app and the Stillpaw Plus subscription. Please read them before using the app.

Last updated: 29 October 2026

The short version

Stillpaw is a diary you keep for your dog or cat. It records what you enter, reminds you at the times you set, and makes a report from your entries. It is not a medical or veterinary device. It doesn't detect or monitor seizures, it isn't an alarm, and it doesn't give medical advice or replace your vet. Never wait to contact your vet because of anything the app shows, or doesn't show.

Reminders are iPhone notifications, and they can be late or not arrive. You stay responsible for giving your pet's medicines as your vet prescribed, and for keeping the diary complete. Your records are kept on your iPhone. If the phone is lost, or the app is deleted, they can be lost too, unless you have exported a backup file.

The app is free for one pet, with no time limit. Stillpaw Plus is £2.49 a month or £17.99 a year, with no free trial, taken by Apple and renewing until you turn it off.

Because the app is a diary and not a monitor, we are not responsible, as far as the law allows, for doses given late or not given, for records that weren't made or were lost or wrong, or for what follows from those for your pet (section 9). Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

1. This agreement

These terms form an agreement between you and Mirentha Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales (company number 17207914), registered office 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ ("we", "us"). They govern your use of the Stillpaw iPhone application, the Stillpaw Plus subscription and any updates to them (the "App"). By downloading or using the App you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, do not use the App.

This agreement is between you and us alone, not with Apple, and we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content.

2. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the App may also be used by other accounts associated with the purchaser through Family Sharing; Stillpaw Plus itself is not shared through Family Sharing. The licence is for your own use; it is not a sale, and we keep all rights we do not expressly grant. The App runs on iPhone with iOS 26 or later and is supplied in English only.

3. Stillpaw Plus, renewal, and if it ends

The App is free to download. Its free plan has no time limit and covers one pet with every seizure, the seizure timer, your emergency plan, History with the monthly chart, one daily medicine with reminders and the dose log, rescue medicines and extra doses, CSV export, and backup and restore.

Stillpaw Plus is an auto-renewing subscription that adds more pets, more daily medicines with reminders and the dose log, the vet report PDF, and medicine changes on the History chart: £2.49 per month or £17.99 per year. These are UK prices; the price in your country and currency is the one the App Store shows before you confirm. There is no free trial.

Apple sells the subscription and takes the payment. Your Apple Account is charged when you confirm the purchase, and then for each renewal, which Apple charges within the 24 hours before the current period ends, at the plan's current price. The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. If the price goes up, Apple tells you before it applies and, where required, asks you to agree.

You manage and cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings (on iPhone: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions), or from the App's Settings › Stillpaw Plus › Manage subscription. We cannot cancel it for you. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Plus stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. To use Plus on another iPhone or after reinstalling, use Restore Purchases in the App's Settings, signed in with the same Apple Account. Refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; we cannot issue one ourselves. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including your right to a repair, replacement or refund if the App is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose.

If Stillpaw Plus ends, nothing you've recorded is deleted. Each pet keeps its first daily medicine with reminders and the dose log; other daily medicines stop reminding and become read-only, and the App tells you which, by name, when it happens. The vet report and the medicine changes on the History chart need Plus again. Seizure logging, the timer, CSV export and backups keep working.

4. What you may not do

You may not copy, redistribute, rent, lease, lend, sell or sublicense the App; modify it or create derivative works from it; reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it except to the extent the law expressly permits despite this restriction; remove any proprietary notices; or use it in breach of any applicable law or export control. You must also comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App, such as your mobile network's.

5. Accuracy, and what the App is not

A record-keeping aid, not a medical or veterinary device. Stillpaw is a diary. It records the seizures, doses and notes you enter, times a seizure from the moment you tap Seizure started, reminds you at the times you set, and turns your entries into charts, files and a report. It does not monitor your pet, detect or predict seizures, or raise an alarm; it is not a medical device or a veterinary device; and it does not diagnose, suggest, calculate or change a dose, or tell you whether a seizure is dangerous. The emergency plan the timer shows is the one you wrote, and the fixed line "If you're worried, call your vet or an out-of-hours vet now" is the only advice the App gives. It is not a substitute for your vet, a neurologist or an out-of-hours service. Never delay contacting a vet because of anything the App shows, or doesn't show.

Reminders can be late, or not arrive at all. Reminders are local notifications that iOS delivers on your iPhone, not messages we send, and we cannot make iOS deliver them. They can be late, silent or not appear when, for example: notifications for the App are turned off or limited (including the Lock Screen, sound or Scheduled Summary); a Focus, Do Not Disturb or Sleep mode is on; the iPhone is switched off or out of battery; the time zone or the iPhone's clock changes; the App hasn't been opened for some days (it sets reminders up to a week ahead, and fewer when there are many dose times); the App is deleted or reinstalled; or iOS limits how many notifications an app may schedule. A second reminder, when it's on, is subject to the same limits. You stay responsible for giving your pet's medicines as your vet prescribed. Don't rely on the App as your only reminder of a dose.

Entries exist only if you make them. The App doesn't fill anything in for you: a seizure is recorded only if you time it or add it, and a dose only if you mark it. A dose slot you haven't recorded shows as "Not recorded"; the App doesn't infer whether it was given. You are responsible for keeping your records complete and correct. The statistics, charts and report are worked out from your entries alone, so they are only as complete and accurate as those entries. The vet report is marked on every page as compiled from your entries, possibly incomplete, and not a clinical record or a diagnosis.

Your records are kept on your iPhone, and only there. We don't receive or hold a copy, so we cannot recover your records for you. They are kept in the App's storage on your iPhone, and in your iPhone's own backup if you use one (iCloud or a computer). If the iPhone is lost, stolen, damaged or reset, or the App is deleted, your records can be lost with it unless you have exported a backup file (Settings › Backup › Export backup) and kept it somewhere safe. The App reminds you to do this from time to time; doing it is up to you.

6. Third-party material

The App uses Apple's own frameworks and no third-party content, data or code that carries its own licence terms.

7. Privacy

We collect no personal data through the App, and the App sends nothing to us: no account, no server, no analytics. What it keeps on your iPhone and why is set out in the Stillpaw privacy policy at https://mirentha.com/apps/stillpaw/privacy/, which forms part of these terms.

8. Warranties

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to digital content that is faulty or not as described, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and nothing in these terms affects them. Advice about your legal rights is available from Citizens Advice.

Beyond those rights, and to the extent the law allows, we don't promise that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, that iOS will deliver every reminder at its time, or that the App will suit a purpose other than keeping the diary described in section 5.

If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the App, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation in respect of the App, and any other claim arising from a failure to conform to a warranty is our responsibility.

9. Liability

What we don't limit. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected, and if faulty digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content you own, you keep your right to a repair or compensation.

What we aren't responsible for. Stillpaw is a diary you keep, not a monitor or a medical device (section 5). So, subject to the paragraph above and as far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from:

  • a dose given late, not given or given twice, or a reminder that was late, silent or didn't arrive;
  • a seizure, dose or note that wasn't recorded, or was recorded wrongly;
  • records that were lost, including with a lost, damaged or reset iPhone or a deleted App, where no backup file had been exported;
  • decisions made by you, your vet or anyone else on the strength of what the App showed, or the report;
  • the consequences of any of these for your pet, including its illness, injury or death, and vet's fees and other costs.

Other loss. Subject to the first paragraph, we are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when you started using the App, for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data that keeping a backup file would have avoided; and our total liability arising out of or in connection with the App is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim and £50.

10. Support and maintenance

We are solely responsible for support of the App; Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services. Support is offered through the Stillpaw support page at https://mirentha.com/apps/stillpaw/support/ and by email at [email protected].

11. Third-party claims and Apple

We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the App fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation. We are also responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging any claim that the App infringes a third party's intellectual property rights. What you record in the App is yours.

You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement, and on your acceptance of it Apple has the right to enforce it against you as a third-party beneficiary.

12. Term and termination

This licence runs until terminated. It ends automatically if you breach these terms, and you may end it at any time by cancelling any subscription and deleting the App (export a backup file first if you want to keep your records). Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the period you are in. Sections 5, 8, 9, 11 and 13 survive termination.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident outside the UK, nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of any mandatory law of your country of residence, or of your right to bring proceedings in the courts of that country. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in force.

14. Contact, and changes to these terms

Questions, complaints or claims about the App or these terms: [email protected], or Mirentha Ltd, 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. For help using the App, use the form on the Stillpaw support page.

We may update these terms, for example when the App or Stillpaw Plus changes. The current version is always at https://mirentha.com/apps/stillpaw/terms/ with the date it was last updated. If a change materially affects you, the App shows its summary again and asks you to read it before you carry on.
