At the table
Point it at the receipt
Whole bill in frame. Creases and coffee rings are fine, and a photo you took earlier works too.
It reads every line
Apple Intelligence reads the items, the service and the total, then stops so you can check every line before you add names.
Shared plates
Shared plates split themselves.
Put three names on a bottle and each pays a third. If the pennies don't divide, the spare one goes to one of them, so the shares always add up to the price on the bill.
Who had what
Tap a name, then what they had
Every running total moves as you tap, and anything nobody has claimed yet stays marked in red.
Everything claimed, and it adds up
When every line has an owner and the shares meet the printed total, it says so. If the lines don't match the total, it says that instead.
The awkward bits
Service per head, or by what each person ate.
Service and tax are split equally, or spread across what each person ate, in one tap. VAT that's already in the prices shows as included, so nobody adds it twice, and a discount comes off what each person had.

Your share comes first, with what it's made of. One tap sends the whole table's numbers to the group chat in a single line.
Or one slip each
No group chat? Each person gets their own slip: what they had, what it came to, and your pay-me link if you've added one.
Nothing kept
Close the app and the bill is gone.
There's no account and no history. The receipt is read on Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which Apple says keeps nothing once it has answered, and nothing about your bill reaches us. Names and shares stay on your iPhone unless you send them.

Every fix is a press away.
Fix any line with a press
Press and hold a line to fix its price, rename it or remove it. A “2 ×” line splits into two, so each can go to someone different.
Long bill? Scan the rest
Photograph the bottom half and it joins the same bill. The same paper twice counts as a retake, never a doubled bill.
No receipt? Type the total
Type what it came to and split it evenly. Free with or without a subscription, and it works with no signal.
Your pay-me link on the slips
Add your Monzo.me or PayPal.Me link in Settings, and the slips you send carry it with each person's amount.

Questions
What people ask first.
Does everyone at the table need the app?
No. Only the person holding the receipt. Everyone else gets their number in the group chat, or their own slip.
Where does the photo of the receipt go?
To Apple, and nowhere else. Apple Intelligence reads it on Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which Apple says keeps nothing once it has answered. Nothing about your bill reaches us. The privacy policy has the detail.
Does it work without signal?
Scanning needs a connection, because the receipt is read on Apple's servers. Typing a total and splitting it works with no signal at all.
What if the scan gets a line wrong?
Press and hold the line to fix its price, rename it or remove it. If the lines don't add up to the printed total, Fairsies tells you rather than guessing.
Which iPhones does it work on?
Scanning needs iOS 27 and an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, switched on and set to a language it supports. On an iPhone with iOS 27 but without Apple Intelligence, you can still type a total and split it.
How do I cancel the subscription?
In Settings on your iPhone, under your name and Subscriptions, or from Manage subscription inside the app. Scanning keeps working to the end of the period you've paid for.
