RotorcastDrone weather for iPhone
How Rotorcast compares
Rotorcast is a drone weather app for iPhone that judges each hour Go, Marginal or No-go against your own drone’s limits, with wind worked out at your flying height: the next 24 hours free, ten days with Plus. Beside UAV Forecast, Drone Forecast and Drone Buddy it has widgets and a 07:00 notification (with Plus) and a pre-flight checklist, and no airspace map. It doesn’t check airspace or say whether a flight is legal.
Who it suits
Rotorcast is a good fit if
- you decide each morning whether to fly from a few regular spots
- you want each hour judged against your own drone’s limits, with wind at your height
- you’d like widgets and a 07:00 notification with the next window (with Plus)
- you’d rather have no account, analytics or ads
Another app may suit you better if
- you want airspace or no-fly-zone maps: UAV Forecast and Drone Buddy have them, and Drone Forecast with its subscriptions
- you want hourly forecasts 15 days ahead (UAV Forecast’s Professional plan) or GPS satellite counts
- you use Android: UAV Forecast and Drone Buddy have Android apps

What people ask of a drone weather app
To know why an hour is a no
Rotorcast names the factor that decides each hour, so you know whether to wait or give up for the day.
Wind where the drone flies
Rotorcast treats Apple Weather’s wind as the 10-metre forecast and estimates wind and gusts at your drone’s height for open ground, trees and houses or town, and says how.
A clear line on airspace
A weather app can’t say whether you may fly somewhere. Rotorcast holds no airspace data and never says a flight is legal; its checklist opens NATS’s airspace map and the CAA’s Drone Code.
Questions
Is there a drone weather app that uses my drone’s own limits?
Yes. Rotorcast judges every hour against the limits you set for each drone and names what decides it. UAV Forecast also has thresholds you set, colours each value past one and marks each hour Good To Fly or not.
Does Rotorcast show no-fly zones or airspace?
No. It holds no airspace data and doesn’t check whether a flight is legal; its checklist opens NATS’s airspace map and the CAA’s Drone Code. UAV Forecast and Drone Buddy have no-fly-zone or airspace maps, and so does Drone Forecast with its subscriptions.
How much is Rotorcast?
Free for one spot, one drone and the next 24 hours, with no time limit. Rotorcast Plus, for ten days, every spot and drone, the widgets and the 07:00 notification, is £1.99 a month or £12.99 a year, and new subscribers get 7 days free.
Does Rotorcast need an account?
No. There’s no account, no analytics and no ads, and Mirentha receives none of your data. A spot’s coordinates go to Apple Weather to fetch its forecast.
Does Rotorcast work on Android or iPad?
It’s made for iPhone with iOS 26 or later; there’s no Android or iPad version. UAV Forecast and Drone Buddy have Android apps.
