HivedayHive inspection log for iPhone
Log each inspection at the hive.
52-point buttons made for a gloved thumb, and each count’s first tap brings back the hive’s last number.
Two hives free. Hiveday Plus is £1.99 a month or £12.99 a year.
What’s due
01
Each hive’s next visit, counted for you.
Every hive has its own interval, anything from 3 to 60 days. Hiveday counts from the last inspection, and if rain puts a visit off, Change moves it.
02
What’s due comes to the top.
Overdue hives first, most overdue at the top, then any you haven’t inspected yet, then those due in the next two days. Each says it in words: “2 days overdue”, “Due tomorrow”.
Varroa
Count the mites. The rate is worked out.
For a wash or a sugar roll, mites in the bees you sampled; for a natural drop, mites a day. Nine mites in 300 bees is 3.0 per 100 bees.
With Hiveday Plus, each hive’s counts are charted, against a line you can set for it. Hiveday shows the numbers and never tells you when to treat.
Veterinary medicines record
01
Every medicine, bought, given and disposed of.
Only the product is needed at first. UK and EU rules ask you to keep these records for at least five years, and Hiveday won’t let you delete one until its five years are up, except in its first seven days.
02
The PDF your bee inspector asks for.
Choose the period, then share a PDF laid out like the National Bee Unit’s Fact Sheet 28, or a CSV. Free for every hive.
Queens
Each queen’s colour, from her year.
Set the year a queen was born and Hiveday marks her by the international code: white, yellow, red, green, then blue, round again every five years.
A filled mark means she’s marked; a ring means she isn’t yet. Whether she’s clipped sits beside it.
And the rest
What else a season needs.
When a colony goes, its records stay
Archive a hive that died, was united, sold or given away, with the date. It leaves the Due list, and its inspections, varroa counts and medicine records still export.
In your own iCloud
Records and photos sync through your private iCloud, free. Mirentha can’t see them.
A reminder on the day
When a hive is due, and when a treatment’s planned removal day comes.
Photos on an inspection
With Plus, add up to six. Hiveday keeps a smaller copy of each, without its location.
Your records export
The medicines record, your inspections, or a backup of every record, on every plan. Photos stay in the app and your iCloud.

Questions
Before you take it to the hive.
Can I use Hiveday with gloves on?
It’s made for a gloved thumb: every answer on New inspection is a 52-point button, the counts and temper are 52-point circles (48 on the smallest iPhones), and nothing needs typing before you save.
Does it sync between my iPhones?
Yes, free, through your own iCloud, when you’re signed in with iCloud on for Hiveday. Records and photos sync; Mirentha can’t see them, and there’s no account to make.
Can I keep the bee medicines record in it?
Yes, free on every plan, and it keeps working for every hive if Plus ends. Hiveday won’t delete a record until its five years are up, except in its first seven days, and exports it as a PDF or CSV for your bee inspector.
How is the varroa rate worked out?
Mites divided by bees sampled, times 100, for a wash or sugar roll; mites divided by days for a natural drop. Hiveday shows the numbers and never tells you when to treat.
How much is Hiveday?
The free plan covers two active hives, with no time limit; archived hives don’t count. Hiveday Plus, £1.99 a month or £12.99 a year, adds more hives, photos and the charts.
