Clocking

01

Clock in and out in one tap

Clock in, take your break and clock out with big buttons where your thumb already is. The card turns green while you're on the clock and shows what you stamped last.

02

Or don't open the app

Say “Clock in with Tallyshift” to Siri, run it from Shortcuts or put it on the Action button. Breaks and Clock out work the same way, and Siri tells you the time it recorded.

03

It reminds you to clock out

Twelve hours after you clock in, a “Still on shift?” reminder asks you to end the shift at the right time. Change the time or turn it off; Tallyshift never ends a shift by itself.

Templates

Same shifts every week? Add them in one tap.

Save your usual week once. Then one tap adds that week's shifts, and each one counts as soon as it starts.

A template's break sits in the middle of its shift, and any shift that would overlap one you already have on that job is skipped, so nothing counts twice.

Pay periods

01

Your pay period, your start day

Weekly, fortnightly, every four weeks or monthly. Every shift lands in the period it starts in, so a night shift belongs to the day it began.

02

Every total in hours and as a decimal

47h 27m is 47.45 hours: both forms, so you can match your payslip whichever it prints. Every shift is worked out to the minute; decimals are shown to two places.

The period 12 to 18 October 2026: 47 hours 27 minutes, 47.45 hours, 4 shifts, 2 hours of breaks. Mon 12 Oct 12h 06m, Tue 13 Oct 12h 00m, Thu 15 Oct 12h 00m, Fri 16 Oct 11h 21m, with Export CSV and Export PDF timesheet.

Payslip check

Check your payslip against your own record

On payday, type the hours printed on your payslip and the dates it covers, even when you're paid a period late.

Tallyshift shows the difference in hours, never money, and draws no conclusion.

Your record

01

Fix a time, keep the old one

Forgot to clock in until 07:52? Change it to 07:45, and the shift keeps how it was recorded, when, and every change since.

02

Every edit goes into your exports

A CSV of every shift with its history, free and at any time. With Plus, each period also makes a PDF timesheet headed “Personal record kept by the worker. Not an employer timesheet.”

Editing the shift of Thursday 15 October: start 07:45, end 20:15, worked 12h 00m, a break 12:30 to 13:00, and its history: recorded Clocked live, added 15 Oct 2026 at 07:52, start changed from 15 Oct at 07:52 to 15 Oct at 07:45.

Tallyshift Plus

Overtime, nights and bank holidays at your own rates

Add your rate from a date and the premiums your contract has: overtime after so many hours, a time of night, a day of the week, bank holidays.

Premiums never add together; each minute takes the single best rate. Tallyshift never works out tax or take-home pay.

Also in Tallyshift

Backups, breaks, nights and more than one job

A backup every week, in Files

A backup goes to the Files app each week, the newest eight are kept, and restoring one adds what's missing without deleting anything.

Breaks your way

Paid or unpaid, with your own rule for a shift that has no break recorded.

Nights and clock changes

When the clocks go back on 25 October, a 22:00 to 06:00 shift counts the 9h 00m that passed, and says so.

No account

Your record syncs between your devices through your own iCloud, or stays on the one iPhone if you'd rather.

More than one job, with Plus

Each with its own pay period and rates; on the free plan, archive the old job when you change, and its records stay.

Questions

Before you start

Is Tallyshift free?

For one job, yes, for good: clocking, breaks, templates, every hours total, the payslip check, CSV export, backups and sync. Tallyshift Plus, £1.49 a month or £9.99 a year, adds more than one job, your own rates and premiums with an estimated gross, and PDF timesheets.

How do I check the hours on my payslip?

On payday, open Payslip, pick the period, say which dates the payslip covers (or that you're paid one period late) and type the hours as printed, like 37.5 or 37:30. Tallyshift shows the difference against your own record, in hours.

Does it work out my take-home pay?

No. Tallyshift never calculates tax, National Insurance, pension or take-home pay. With Plus, it gives an estimated gross from the rates you enter, before any deductions.

What if I forget to clock out?

A “Still on shift?” reminder comes 12 hours after you clock in, or after the time you choose. After 16 hours, Today asks you to set the end time. Tallyshift never ends a shift by itself, and the fix stays in the shift's history.

Do I need an account?

No. Your record is on your iPhone, and in your own iCloud if you're signed in, which keeps your iPhones in step. Mirentha never sees it.

Can I get my hours out of the app?

Yes. Export a CSV of every shift and its edit history at any time, on the free plan and after Plus ends. A backup also goes to the Files app every week, and Plus adds a PDF timesheet for each period.
