Tell us what happened and, if you can, your iPhone model, its iOS version and Crownwind’s version (at the bottom of Crownwind’s Settings).
What Crownwind needs
- An iPhone with iOS 26 or later.
- An internet connection for the clock check and iCloud sync; without one, syncs are still kept, marked “Clock not checked”.
- English is the app’s language. It has a dark appearance only, by design.
Questions
How do I sync a watch?
Open the watch and tap Sync. Watch your watch’s seconds hand, and tap the lower part of the screen as it reaches 12, on three minutes in a row. Then say which minute your watch showed at the last tap. Sync it again six hours or more later for its rate; 24 hours gives the best one.
Why does it say my first rate will be ready later?
A rate needs two syncs at least six hours apart, so the first sync is a starting point. Crownwind shows the time the first rate will be ready; syncing 24 hours after the first gives the best one.
What does “Clock not checked” mean?
Crownwind couldn’t reach Apple’s time server (no connection, or a very slow one), so it used your iPhone’s clock unchecked. The sync is kept, and the rate it gives has a wider range.
It says my taps were too far apart.
Your three taps disagreed by more than a second. Try again, or save it as rough: a rough sync is kept with its spread, so its rates show a wider range.
It says I missed a minute.
Taps need to be about a minute apart, on three minutes in a row. Start the sync again and tap once each time the seconds hand reaches 12.
I’ve set my watch. What should I do?
Open the watch and tap “I’ve set this watch”, then sync it. That sync starts a new run, so the time you set it isn’t counted as drift. If you forget, Crownwind asks “Did you set this watch since the last sync?” when the watch’s time has moved more than two minutes from where its rate says it should be.
What does “Phone clock changed — measure again” mean?
Between two syncs that weren’t both clock-checked, your iPhone’s clock was changed or the phone restarted, so that interval can’t be measured. It’s kept, and left out of every average.
Position averages say “Not enough data”.
A position shows its average once it has two intervals of six hours or more. After a sync, say how the watch spent the time, or touch and hold an interval on the watch’s page to set it later. Position averages are part of Crownwind Plus.
My service reminders aren’t arriving.
Reminders come 30 days before a service is due and on the day, at 09:00, from the interval you set for the watch (part of Crownwind Plus). Check that notifications are on in your iPhone’s Settings › Apps › Crownwind › Notifications; the watch’s page also offers Turn On Reminders if they’ve never been asked for. When they’re off, the due date still shows in the app.
My watches aren’t on my other iPhone.
Both iPhones need to be signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud on. Crownwind’s Settings show whether it’s syncing with your iCloud, and if not, why. New records can take a few minutes to arrive.
How do I back up, restore or export my records?
Crownwind writes a backup each week to Files › On My iPhone › Crownwind and keeps the newest eight. In Settings you can back up now, restore from a backup or choose any backup or exported JSON file; restoring adds what’s missing and never deletes anything. Export CSV or JSON from Settings on any plan.
It says there’s not enough space.
Crownwind needs about 100 MB free on the iPhone to save a photo or a backup. Free some space and try again.
How do I restore my purchase?
In Crownwind’s Settings, tap Restore Purchases (on the Plus screen it’s Restore Subscription). Use the same Apple Account you bought Plus with.
How do I cancel Crownwind Plus?
In Crownwind’s Settings tap Manage Subscription, or go to your iPhone’s Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to stop the next renewal. If Plus ends, nothing you’ve recorded is hidden or deleted.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my records?
Delete a watch from its page (Delete Watch) or by touching and holding it in the list; its syncs and services go with it, on every device that syncs with your iCloud. Deleting the app removes what’s on that iPhone; your iCloud copy can be removed in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.
Do I need to put my watch near my phone?
No. You don’t need to put your watch on or near your phone: you look at its seconds hand and tap the screen.
