HivedayHive inspection log for iPhone

Hiveday terms of use

These are the terms on which Mirentha licenses the Hiveday app for iPhone to you: its licence agreement. By downloading or using Hiveday you agree to them.

Last updated 19 October 2026

1. The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Mirentha Ltd ("Mirentha", "we", "us") only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Mirentha, not Apple, is solely responsible for Hiveday and its content.

2. Your licence

Mirentha grants you a non-transferable licence to use Hiveday on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/), including use by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing where the App Store offers them. Hiveday Plus isn't shared through Family Sharing.

You may not copy, rent, lend, sell, redistribute or sublicense Hiveday, or decompile, reverse-engineer or modify it, except where the law allows you to. Hiveday and its design, text and code belong to Mirentha. Your records belong to you.

3. Hiveday Plus and purchases

Free. Hiveday is free to download and free to use for two active hives, in any number of apiaries, with no time limit. That includes inspections, varroa counts and reminders for those hives, the whole medicines record for every hive with its PDF and CSV export, the inspections CSV export, iCloud sync through your own iCloud, safety copies, and backup and restore.

Hiveday Plus is an optional auto-renewable subscription that adds more than two active hives, photos on inspections, and the varroa and brood charts. It is offered as:

  • Hiveday Plus Monthly: 1 month, £1.99
  • Hiveday Plus Annual: 1 year, £12.99

These are UK App Store prices. The App Store shows the price in your own country and currency before you buy. There is no free trial, and Hiveday Plus isn't shared through Family Sharing.

Payment and renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal, at your plan's price above or the price the App Store shows in your country, within the 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account's subscription settings after purchase: on iPhone, Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions, or Manage subscription in Hiveday's Settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and Plus carries on until the end of the period you have paid for.

If Hiveday Plus ends. Nothing you have recorded is deleted, and everything still exports. The first two active hives carry on as in the free app, other active hives become read-only until you subscribe again, and the medicines record keeps working for every hive. Photos you have added stay viewable, but new ones can't be added, and the charts are locked.

Restoring. Restore Purchases in Hiveday's Settings, or the restore button on the Hiveday Plus screen, restores an active subscription on a new or reinstalled iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account.

Refunds. Purchases are made through Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under its policies: you can ask for one at https://reportaproblem.apple.com. Mirentha can't issue refunds for App Store purchases.

Your information. How Hiveday handles information is set out in its privacy policy: https://mirentha.com/apps/hiveday/privacy/

4. Maintenance and support

Mirentha is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for Hiveday, as described on the support page (https://mirentha.com/apps/hiveday/support/) or as required by applicable law. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to Hiveday.

5. Warranty

If Hiveday fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for Hiveday to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to Hiveday. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are Mirentha's sole responsibility, subject to section 12. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer in the UK.

6. Product claims

Mirentha, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to Hiveday or your possession and use of it, including: (a) product liability claims; (b) any claim that Hiveday fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (c) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.

7. Intellectual property

If a third party claims that Hiveday, or your possession and use of it, infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Mirentha, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that intellectual property infringement claim.

8. Legal compliance

You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

9. Third-party terms

You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using Hiveday, such as your wireless data service agreement.

10. Third-party beneficiary

Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and on your acceptance of them Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

11. Using Hiveday

Hiveday is a record-keeping tool. It records what you saw at the hive and what you gave; it doesn't identify diseases, recommend a treatment or a dose, or say when to treat. The varroa rates it shows are worked out from the counts you enter, and due dates and reminders come from the intervals and dates you set.

You are responsible for what you record and for your own legal obligations as a beekeeper, including keeping veterinary medicine records and reporting a suspected notifiable pest or disease to your bee inspector. The medicines record PDF is laid out like the National Bee Unit's Fact Sheet 28. Hiveday is not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Bee Unit or APHA, and we can't promise that an inspector or authority will accept a particular record.

Your records are kept on your devices and, when iCloud is on, in your own iCloud, not by Mirentha, so we hold none of them and can't recover them. Hiveday is a tool for keeping your own records: you are responsible for keeping the records the law requires of you, for as long as it requires, and for keeping your own copies (export the medicines record or a backup file regularly). iCloud sync is provided by Apple and depends on your iCloud account and storage; we don't guarantee that it will keep or restore your records, and neither are the safety copies Hiveday keeps on your iPhone a guarantee. Reminders depend on your iPhone's notification settings and don't arrive if notifications are off.

12. Our liability to you

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you started using Hiveday, for business losses, or for the loss of records that keeping a backup would have prevented. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own courts, and if you live elsewhere you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when Hiveday changes. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date on https://mirentha.com/apps/hiveday/terms/. A change that affects Hiveday Plus applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
