TallyshiftLog shifts, check your payslip
Privacy policy
Your record stays on your iPhone and in your own iCloud, and Mirentha receives none of it. Below is everything the app keeps and where.
Last updated: 17 October 2026
Who we are
Tallyshift is made by Mirentha Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales (company number 17207914), registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. For anything about this policy, email [email protected].
This policy covers the Tallyshift app for iPhone. Visits to mirentha.com, and messages sent through the support form, are covered by our website privacy policy.
The short version
- Tallyshift has no account, no server of ours, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.
- Your record is kept on your iPhone and, if you're signed in to iCloud, in your own iCloud, which keeps your devices in step. Apple stores it; Mirentha can't read it.
- Backups, copies and exports go only where you put them.
- The only permission the app asks for is notifications, for the “Still on shift?” reminder.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
What the app keeps
Your record
Your jobs (name, pay period, week start, break rule, bank-holiday region), shifts (start, end, time zone, how each was recorded, notes), breaks, every edit to a shift (when, what changed, from what), your rates and premiums, templates and payslip checks (the dates covered, the hours you typed, and any note).
It's used only to keep and add up your record on your device. It's stored in the app's own storage on your iPhone. If you're signed in to iCloud, it's also stored in your iCloud private database (the container iCloud.com.mirentha.tallyshift), so your record appears on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Apple holds that data under your Apple Account; Mirentha has no access to it. If you aren't signed in to iCloud, everything stays on the one iPhone. It stays until you delete it (see below).
A shift you delete leaves your totals but stays in the record as deleted, and a note you change keeps its earlier text in the shift's edit history, so your record shows every change. The note field asks you not to add patients' or clients' details.
Backups
Each week the app writes a backup file of your whole record, notes included, to its folder in the Files app (On My iPhone, then Tallyshift), and keeps the newest eight. Before an update changes how the record is stored, it also keeps a copy of the previous record there. The app never uploads these files. If you use “Save a copy”, the backup goes wherever you choose to save it, such as iCloud Drive.
Exports
A CSV export, and with Tallyshift Plus a PDF timesheet, go only where you save or share them. Notes are left out of both unless you turn on “Include notes in exports”. The PDF is made first in the app's temporary folder, which iOS clears. Once you share a file, the app or person you send it to holds that copy.
Settings on the iPhone
The app keeps a few settings on the iPhone only: the reminder delay; whether notes go into exports; the month the monthly export reminder last showed; the date of the newest backup; the version of the record's format, so it can copy the record before an update changes it; the last subscription status the App Store confirmed, when it confirmed it, and whether you've ever subscribed; which job you can still clock in on if Tallyshift Plus ends; and how many times “Shift saved” has shown and the version Apple's rating prompt was last asked in, so it's asked at most once per version.
Your device's own backups
Like any app's data, Tallyshift's record and backup files are included in your iPhone's own backup to iCloud or to a computer, if you use one. That's done by iOS, not by the app.
Apple services the app uses
- iCloud: syncs your record through your own iCloud private database. iCloud may wake the app with a silent notification when there's something to sync. Apple's privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- The App Store: handles Tallyshift Plus purchases, renewals and restores, and tells the app whether you subscribe.
- Siri and Shortcuts: the app's actions (Clock in, Clock out, Start break, End break) run on your iPhone. Siri hears what you say under Apple's own terms; the app answers with the time it recorded.
- Notifications: the “Still on shift?” reminder is scheduled on your iPhone. No notification comes from a server of ours.
- Rating prompt: after the third “Shift saved”, the app may ask Apple to show its rating prompt, at most once per version. Any rating goes to Apple.
- Crash reports: if you've chosen to share analytics with app developers (Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with us, as Apple describes in those settings.
The app contains no third-party code for analytics, advertising or crash reporting, and makes no network requests of its own. Bank-holiday dates are built in, not downloaded. Links to Acas, Citizens Advice and our own pages open in your browser only when you tap them.
Apart from Apple's services listed above, the app shares no data with any third party. Apple holds your iCloud data and handles purchases under your own agreement with Apple and Apple's privacy policy, which protects that data at least as well as this policy does.
Purchases
Tallyshift Plus is bought through Apple. Apple processes the payment; Mirentha never sees your card or Apple Account details. We receive only Apple's aggregated sales reports, which don't identify you.
Deleting your data and changing permissions
- Payslip checks and rates can be deleted in the app. Shifts you delete stay in the record as deleted, as described above.
- To remove everything from your iPhone, delete the app. That removes its record, settings and the backup files in its Files folder. Copies you saved elsewhere stay until you delete them.
- To remove the copy in iCloud, go to Settings, then your name, then iCloud, then the storage list, choose Tallyshift and delete its data. Do this before deleting the app on your last device if you want nothing left in iCloud.
- To stop the reminder, set it to Off in the app's Settings, or turn off notifications for Tallyshift in Settings, then Notifications.
- To stop syncing, turn off iCloud for Tallyshift in Settings, then your name, then iCloud.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict and move your personal data, and to object to how it's used. The app sends Mirentha none of your record, so we hold nothing of it that we could give you, correct or erase: you control it directly on your devices and in your iCloud. Crash reports Apple shares with your permission don't contain it. If you write to us through the support form, how we handle that message is set out in our website privacy policy. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: https://ico.org.uk
Children
Tallyshift is a tool for working adults and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect any data from children, and the app sends us none.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes what it keeps or where, we'll update this policy and the date at the top before the change reaches you.
