PackcastPacking lists for iPhone, by Mirentha
How Packcast compares
Packcast is a packing-list app for iPhone that builds your list from the weather at each stop of a trip: up to five stops, each with its own forecast, or typical weather for those dates when the trip is months away. Every weather item says why it’s there, the list follows the forecast, and it learns what you don’t use. There’s no account and no ads, and your trips stay on your iPhone and in your own iCloud.
Who it suits
Packcast is a good fit if
- your trips have more than one stop, and you want the weather at each to decide what goes in
- you like to see why each thing is on the list
- you’d rather not make an account or see ads
- you pack from your iPhone
Another app may suit you better if
- you’re on Android: PackPoint and Packr have Android apps
- you want to pack from one shared list: Packr shares a trip with the people you travel with, and Packing List Checklist has a live link (with Premium)
- you’d like an Apple Watch app: Packing List Checklist has one, with Premium
- you plan your trips in TripIt: PackPoint and Packr connect to it

What people ask of a packing app
A list that doesn’t disappear
People want a packing list that survives app and iOS updates. Packcast keeps your trips on your iPhone and in your own iCloud, and Settings can export every trip as a spreadsheet whenever you like.
Nothing in the way of the list
Some free packing apps show ads. Packcast has none, and its free plan has no time limit.
No account to make
Packcast has no sign-in at all. Your trips sync through your own iCloud account, and nothing goes to Mirentha.
The weather for the whole trip
A trip with several stops needs the weather at every stop. Packcast takes up to five stops, each with its own dates, and every weather item names the stop that needs it.
